Formal is a dress code that is often suggested for formal events, such as work lunches and conferences. The idea behind this dress code is to wear something that is essentially a dressed-up version of your best office wear. For women, this can mean anything from a tailored dress to a pantsuit worn with high heels. 1. Keep the colour palette mostly neutral to maintain an air of seriousness. 2. Your neckline should never be lower than 4 inches below your collarbone. 3. Sleeveless tops should extend to the edges of your shoulders. Spaghetti straps look shabby and cheap. 4. When in doubt, wear pumps. 5. Jeans necessitate more formal pairings, like a blazer and smart oxfords. 6. Make sure all items are pressed and as wrinkle-free as possible. 7. Don’t go overboard with print mixing. A subtle stripe and floral is on point. 8. If you wear a slightly sheer top, make sure to top it with a blazer. Wear a camisole underneath to be extra safe. 9. The safest hemline is at the knee. Never go shorter than a few inches above the knee. 10. If you want to wear a bold piece like printed pants, balance it with polished items, like a crisp white blouse. Hope this helped you! Until next time :)
